Taxis at Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG)
Taxis are available at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and can provide a direct ride to hotels, offices and other destinations in Shanghai. Journey time and fare depend on traffic, distance, time of day and any applicable road charges.
Before getting into a taxi
- Follow airport signs to the official taxi queue for your terminal.
- Avoid drivers who approach passengers inside the terminal or offer an unofficial ride.
- Show the driver your destination in Chinese characters where possible, as well as the address in English.
- Use the official meter and ask for a receipt at the end of the journey.
- Keep your luggage and valuables with you and check that all bags are loaded before leaving.
How much does a taxi cost?
We do not publish a fixed fare because the final price depends on the destination, traffic, time and applicable charges. Use an official taxi and confirm the fare is metered. Do not treat third-party estimates as guaranteed prices.
Taxi, metro or Maglev?
- Taxi: direct door-to-door travel, especially useful with luggage or a group.
- Metro Line 2: a public transport option connecting PVG with central Shanghai.
- Maglev: rail service to Longyang Road with onward metro connections.
- Airport Link Line: useful for travel between Pudong and Hongqiao airports.
